Patriot Pyro 120GB SSD RAID0 Performance > Benchmarks: File Copy Test
Benchmarks: File Copy Test

The Patriot Pyro 120GB was surprisingly deadening in our 6GB ISO file test with an average transfer speed of 90.8MB/s, or a tad faster than the Kingston SSDNow V+ 100. Withal, by adding a second drive and enabling RAID0 we were able to boost the throughput past most 60%.
At 144.5MB/s, the Pyro RAID0 configuration matched the functioning of the Intel SSD 510 and Crucial m4 drives while it is still slower than the Vertex 3 and HyperX. Despite the meaning improvement over a single drive, the throughput in this test is still a little disappointing.

The plan copy test is comprised of many small non-compressed files (6104 files totaling two.75GB). 1 Pyro averaged 91.5MB/s, which is similar to what we saw when running our single 6GB file exam. Calculation a second drive merely additional speeds by an underwhelming 40%.
As evidenced in the graph, the Pyro 120GB in RAID0 was just able to deliver the same performance as a single Intel SSD 320 or SSD 510 bulldoze while it was however slower than the Crucial m4 and much slower than the Vertex 3 and HyperX drives. An unexpectedly disheartening effect.

The concluding file copy test which we call our "game" test uses a mixture of minor and large, compressed and non-compressed files. Here a single Patriot Pyro 120GB bulldoze averaged 104.7MB/s which again simply made it slightly faster than the Kingston SSDNow Five+ 100.
Adding a second Pyro drive for the RAID0 configuration additional performance by a 44% margin to 151.1MB/s. One time again, despite this relatively big performance boost the Pyro was simply able to match the performance of the Intel SSD 510 and SSD 320 drives.
